Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and personable Optometric Assistant/Optical Dispenser to join our growing eye care team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, assisting with optical procedures, and supporting the daily operations of the optometry practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in eye health, retail sales, and delivering a positive patient experience. Prior experience in optical is preferred, along with a professional attitude and excellent communication skills.
Duties
Primary:
- Greet patients and customers warmly, ensuring a welcoming environment
- Schedule eye examination appointments
- Assist with patient intake, including gathering medical history and updating records
- Assist with pretesting patients for their eye examinations including auto refraction, visual fields and retinal imaging
- Process sales transactions accurately
- Provide exceptional customer service
Secondary:
- Assist with patient frame selections
- Minor frame adjustment and repairs
Qualifications
- Previous experience with optical products is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care is preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and assist patients effectively
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment with attention to detail
- Professional appearance and friendly demeanor to ensure positive patient interactions

Pay: $17.60-$23.00 per hour
