Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance, as part of the Finance team, the Financial Analyst will assist with the overall accounting, budgeting and financial planning functions of Highland Shores. The position will have access to and be working with confidential and/or other sensitive information/data. This position may also provide back-up coverage for the Senior Manager, Finance as assigned during their absence.
Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Education and Skills:
- Accounting designation (CPA).
- Degree in business (Commerce / Accounting / Finance / Business Administration) from a recognized university program.
- A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in a related role, preferably in a non-profit organization.
- Previous accounting experience for all aspects of an organization, including Payroll, is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of government financial reporting and tax requirements.
- Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Office software including Excel (spreadsheets, pivot tables), Power Point (graphics), and Word.
- Highly proficient in the use of computerized financial/accounting systems, previous experience with Oracle preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of CICA standards for “Not for Profit Accounting”.
- Proof of valid G-class driver’s license and $1,000,000 automobile liability insurance.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check.
