Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant(Volunteer) to join our team. This is a Volunteer, unpaid Position. In this role, you will support pharmacists in delivering high-quality patient care by assisting with medication administration, managing inventory, and ensuring the smooth operation of the pharmacy. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and have experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering and restocking medications and supplies.
- Provide exceptional patient care by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications.
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient interactions.
- Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and managing prescription requests.
Experience
- Familiarity with medication administration processes and medical terminology is preferred.
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical environment is an asset.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented atmosphere are crucial for success in this position.
