We are seeking an Accounting Associate to join our team for a 3-month contract opportunity. This role will support the accounting team by maintaining accurate resident ledgers, performing account reconciliations, and responding to inquiries related to account balances. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Reconcile resident and general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Review and maintain resident account balances within Yardi.
- Perform bookkeeping and account reconciliation activities to ensure accurate financial records.
- Monitor and respond to inquiries submitted through the internal ticketing system regarding resident ledger balances.
- Investigate and resolve account discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare and maintain reconciliation reports using Microsoft Excel.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Support the Accounting team with additional administrative and accounting-related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous bookkeeping, accounting, or accounts receivable experience is considered an asset.
- Property accounting experience is considered a strong asset.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service mindset.

The approximate rate for this role is $20 - $25 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including skills, experience, educational attainment, professional designations, internal equity, and other job-related requirements.
