About the Position:
Mowatt Canine Company is seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join our team as a Weekend Kennel Attendant. This hands-on, fast-paced position involves dog handling, cleaning, customer service, and general facility support.
The successful applicant will be comfortable working independently and as part of a team while maintaining a safe, clean, and professional environment for the dogs in our care.
Responsibilities:
- Supervising and safely handling dogs of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments
- Cleaning and sanitizing kennels, equipment, work areas, and shared spaces
- Assisting clients during dog drop-off and pick-up
- Processing payments and providing professional customer service
- Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Following established safety, cleaning, and animal-handling procedures
- Supporting the team with daily operational tasks as required
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and breeds
- Able to safely lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Full weekend availability
- Customer service or animal-care experience is considered an asset but is not required
- Reliable transportation is required, as this position involves split shifts and employees must be able to travel to and from the facility between scheduled work periods.
