The Company

B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland.

Position

Jr. Contract Geologist, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Senior Exploration Geologist, this temporary position (up to 1 year contract) will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

Conduct detailed core logging and sampling, ensuring accurate and timely data entry into geological databases.
Collect, analyze, and interpret geological information from exploration programs, including diamond drilling, soil/till surveys, core preparation, and coordinating sample shipments, to support informed decision-making.
Work collaboratively and independently to maintain a highly organized, efficient, and safety-compliant core shack environment.
Prepare and deliver clear, timely reports on completed work activities to the Supervisor to support program visibility and operational planning.
Provide operational support to geological and geophysical programs, executing tasks safely, efficiently, and in alignment with established procedures.
Participate actively in daily toolbox meetings to reinforce adherence to B2Gold Nunavut’s safety standards, policies, and best practices.
Maintain a clean, hazard-free work area by proactively identifying and eliminating potential safety risks (e.g., tripping hazards).

Desired Competencies and Requirements

Two (2) years’ experience in field mapping, performing geotechnical and core logging activities, and sampling.
University Degree or College Diploma in Geological, Geotechnical, or other related discipline.
Prior experience working in a remote camp setting is considered an asset.
Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labour.
HIMS Certification and/or Level 1 First Aid is considered an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $134,355.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $48.75 and overtime rate of $73.13) in a work year.

B2Gold Nunavut offers a competitive compensation package, including salary commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills, plus a group benefits package for employees and their dependents.
