Wellness Care Counselling is a diverse, culturally responsive, and client-centered private practice dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care to individuals across Ontario. Our practice serves university and post-secondary students, teens, adults, and families from diverse backgrounds. Many of our clients seek support for concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, academic pressures, burnout, self-esteem, relationship challenges, life transitions, and emotional well-being.

As our practice continues to grow, we are seeking compassionate, collaborative, and client-centered Registered Psychotherapists (Qualifying or RP) and Registered Social Workers (MSW) who are passionate about helping clients improve their emotional well-being while working within a supportive and collaborative team.

Position Details

Position: Mental Health Therapist
Location: Remote (Applicants must reside in Ontario)
Employment Type: Independent Contractor
Schedule: Flexible; availability for evening and weekend appointments is required
Client Population: university and post-secondary students,Teens, adults, and families (within your scope of practice)

Experience working with university and post-secondary students or young adults is considered a strong asset. Clinicians with experience supporting concerns related to academic stress, perfectionism, anxiety, burnout, identity development, life transitions, and relationship challenges are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

As a Mental Health Therapist at Wellness Care Counselling, you will:

Provide high-quality virtual psychotherapy services to teens, adults, and families within your scope of practice.
Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and collaboratively develop individualized treatment plans.
Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to each client's unique needs, strengths, and goals.
Maintain accurate, timely, and ethical clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and community resources when appropriate to support continuity of care.
Uphold the ethical standards and professional guidelines of your regulatory college.
Foster a safe, inclusive, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed therapeutic environment.
Participate in peer consultation, team meetings, and professional development opportunities as appropriate.

Qualifications Required

Registered in good standing with one of the following Ontario regulatory colleges:
College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) – Registered Psychotherapist or Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)
Must be a resident of Ontario.
Professional liability insurance.
Experience providing psychotherapy to teens, adults, and/or families.
Strong clinical assessment, communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Commitment to ethical practice, cultural humility, and evidence-based care.
Availability to provide evening and weekend appointments.

Preferred Qualifications

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Gottman Method
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Solution-Focused Therapy
Mindfulness-Based Approaches

Experience supporting clients with:

Anxiety
Depression
Trauma and PTSD
Stress and burnout
Self-esteem and confidence
Relationship concerns
Grief and loss
Life transitions
Emotional regulation
ADHD
Student mental health

Additional languages are considered a strong asset.
