Notre client, une firme spécialisée en expertise technique après-sinistre, recherche un ingénieur électrique souhaitant développer une expertise distinctive en investigation d’incendies et en analyse de défaillances électriques.

Vous réaliserez des enquêtes techniques concrètes et variées afin d’aider les assureurs et les différents intervenants à comprendre l’origine d’un événement et à déterminer si un recours est possible. Un expert d’expérience vous accompagnera durant vos premiers mois afin de vous transmettre les méthodes propres à ce domaine spécialisé.

Temps plein (35h par semaine) | Permanent

Responsabilités

Examiner les lieux d’un incendie ou d’un sinistre;
Réaliser des investigations afin d’en déterminer l’origine et la cause;
Analyser les systèmes, installations et équipements électriques touchés;
Effectuer des relevés, prendre des photographies et recueillir les éléments nécessaires à l’expertise;
Réaliser des essais, des analyses ou des simulations afin de valider différentes hypothèses;
Évaluer les éléments pouvant soutenir un recours;
Repérer les incohérences ou éléments nécessitant une analyse supplémentaire;
Rédiger des rapports d’expertise clairs, rigoureux et bien documentés;
Vulgariser vos conclusions auprès d’une clientèle non spécialisée;
Collaborer principalement avec des assureurs et d’autres professionnels du domaine;
Agir comme témoin expert devant les tribunaux lorsque requis;
Effectuer des déplacements environ deux à trois jours par semaine;
Participer au développement du réseau professionnel de l’entreprise.

Exigences

Baccalauréat en génie électrique obtenu au Québec;
Membre en règle de l’Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
Minimum de 5 années d’expérience pertinente;
Expérience en électricité du bâtiment, construction ou chantier;
Expérience en prévention des incendies ou en expertise après-sinistre (atout);
Excellente maîtrise du français, particulièrement à l’écrit;
Anglais avancé afin d’échanger avec certains clients anglophones;
Permis de conduire valide et accès à un véhicule fiable;
Disponibilité pour vous déplacer au Québec et suivre des formations au Canada ou aux États-Unis.

Our client, a firm specializing in post-loss technical expertise, is seeking an Electrical Engineer looking to develop specialized expertise in fire investigations and electrical failure analysis.

You will conduct hands-on and diverse technical investigations to help insurers and various stakeholders understand the cause of an incident and determine whether recovery actions may be possible. An experienced expert will support you during your first months to provide training and guidance on the methods and practices specific to this specialized field.

Full-time (35 hours per week) | Permanent

Responsibilities

Inspect fire or loss sites to assess damages and conditions.
Conduct investigations to determine the origin and cause of incidents.
Analyze affected electrical systems, installations, and equipment.
Perform inspections, take photographs, and collect relevant evidence for technical assessments.
Conduct tests, analyses, and simulations to validate various hypotheses.
Evaluate elements that may support potential recovery claims.
Identify inconsistencies or factors requiring further investigation.
Prepare clear, thorough, and well-documented technical reports.
Communicate findings to non-technical clients in a clear and accessible manner.
Collaborate primarily with insurers and other industry professionals.
Act as an expert witness in court proceedings when required.
Travel approximately two to three days per week.
Contribute to the development of the company’s professional network.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering obtained in Quebec.
Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience in building electrical systems, construction, or field work.
Experience in fire prevention or post-loss expertise (an asset).
Excellent command of French, particularly written communication.
Advanced English proficiency to communicate with certain English-speaking clients.
Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
Availability to travel throughout Quebec and attend training sessions in Canada or the United States.
