Salary Details: The salary range for this position is CAD $30.28/Hr. - CAD $32.12/Hr. Job Summary:

Come work as a Volunteer Coordinator with Meals on Wheel at Sunshine Coast Home Care Services in Sechelt, BC with Vancouver Coastal Heallth (VCH)!

Within the context of the vision and values of the organization, the Volunteer Coordinator implements and coordinates volunteer programs and activities in response to the priority health issues identified by Community of Care – Coastal. Recruits and trains volunteers and coordinates their deployment. Acts as a resource for staff who interact with volunteers and ensures compliance with organizational policies relevant to volunteers.

ABOUT SECHELT, BC

Sechelt is located on the traditional territories of the shíshálh (Sechelt) Nation and is approximately 50 km northwest of Vancouver. It is accessible from the mainland by a 40-minute ferry trip between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale, followed by a 25-minute drive along Highway 101, also know as the Sunshine Coast Highway. This charming seaside community is know for its natural beauty and is a popular destination for outdoor activities including sightseeing, boating, diving, camping, and mountain biking. There are also several municipal parks, plenty of eateries, locally owned shops, boutiques and galleries, and a golf course. Imagine a lifestyle where you are only a short walk or bike ride to work, you go home for lunch and you are home again in time for an activity or go for a hike AND watch the sunset - all before dinner. That is what Sechelt has to offer you!

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

Grade 12.
Volunteer Manager Courses/Program/Diploma.
Two years experience working with volunteer based programs or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to supervise.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to operate related equipment.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
