Job Title: District ManagerPosition Summary

The District Manager is responsible for supporting the overall operations, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance of all Little Galaxy Childcare & Montessori centres. Working closely with the Directors and Senior Leadership Team, the District Manager ensures each location operates efficiently, meets all licensing and operational standards, and provides exceptional care and education.

This role involves regularly visiting centres to monitor daily operations, support Centre Supervisors, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Ministry regulations, Public Health requirements, and company policies. The District Manager also serves as an operational leader and may provide temporary Centre Supervisor coverage when required. As such, the successful candidate must be a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management

Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple childcare centres.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor operations, staff performance, and overall centre quality.
Ensure all centres consistently follow Little Galaxy policies, procedures, and operational standards.
Support Centre Supervisors in resolving operational challenges and implementing company initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and service across all locations.

Compliance & Licensing

Conduct regular compliance audits to ensure adherence to the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Ministry regulations, Public Health requirements, and company policies.
Monitor health and safety practices, documentation, staffing ratios, and licensing requirements.
Identify areas of non-compliance and develop corrective action plans with Centre Supervisors.
Follow up to ensure corrective actions are completed promptly.
Assist centres in preparing for Ministry inspections, licensing renewals, and regional audits.

Leadership & Centre Support

Coach, mentor, and support Centre Supervisors and leadership teams.
Assist with onboarding and training new Supervisors and management staff.
Promote consistency in leadership, programming, and operational excellence across all centres.
Support centres experiencing staffing shortages or operational challenges.

Supervisor Coverage

Provide temporary Centre Supervisor coverage during vacations, leaves of absence, staffing shortages, or emergencies.
Ensure licensing requirements, staffing ratios, and daily operations remain compliant while overseeing a centre.
Maintain effective communication with families, staff, and senior management during coverage periods.

Quality Assurance

Conduct operational and quality assurance reviews across all locations.
Evaluate classroom environments, programming, documentation, cleanliness, and customer service.
Recommend and implement improvements that enhance program quality and operational performance.
Ensure company standards are consistently maintained throughout all centres.

Staff Development

Provide coaching, mentorship, and ongoing support to Supervisors and educators.
Assist with performance improvement plans and professional development initiatives.
Encourage teamwork, accountability, and a positive workplace culture.
Support conflict resolution and employee engagement initiatives.

Administrative Responsibilities

Complete centre visit reports and compliance documentation.
Monitor action plans and follow-up activities.
Maintain accurate operational records and reports.
Attend leadership meetings and provide updates on centre performance.
Assist Directors with special projects and operational initiatives.

Qualifications

Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
Minimum of 3–5 years of leadership experience in a licensed childcare setting.
Previous experience as a Centre Supervisor or Assistant Supervisor is preferred.
Strong knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Ministry licensing requirements, and Public Health regulations.
Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and childcare management software (e.g., Brightwheel) is an asset.
Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation with the ability to travel regularly between Little Galaxy locations.

Position Purpose

The District Manager ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and consistent program quality across all Little Galaxy Childcare & Montessori centres. By providing leadership, mentorship, compliance oversight, and direct operational support—including Centre Supervisor coverage when needed—this role helps maintain the highest standards of care while supporting the success of each centre, its staff, and the families it serves.

Pay: $85,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
