Role and Objectives:

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Manager, Corporate Finance is a key member of the Finance leadership team responsible for supporting the Company's financial strategy through treasury management, capital investment analysis, financial risk management, tax coordination, and corporate finance activities.

This role plays an important part in helping the organization make informed investment decisions, manage liquidity, assess financial risks, and support strategic initiatives across the business. The successful candidate will partner closely with finance and operational leaders to provide financial insights, strengthen decision-making, and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

Treasury & Financial Planning

Lead the preparation of short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts to support business planning and decision-making.
Monitor liquidity requirements and provide recommendations regarding cash utilization and working capital management.
Prepare financial analysis to support capital deployment decisions and financing requirements.
Forecast, calculate, and monitor compliance with banking covenants and financing agreements.
Prepare covenant reporting and supporting analysis for senior leadership and lenders.
Oversee investment tracking and reporting related to GICs and other short-term investments.
Support the administration and monitoring of hedging programs and other financial risk management activities.

Capital Investment & Corporate Finance

Partner with business leaders to evaluate capital investment opportunities across the organization.
Develop financial models and business cases to support capital allocation decisions.
Calculate and assess key investment metrics, including Return on Investment (ROI), Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Payback Period, and Sensitivity and scenario analysis.
Monitor and report on the performance of approved capital projects against expected business outcomes.
Support strategic initiatives, acquisitions, and other corporate finance projects as required.

Risk Management & Insurance

Lead the annual insurance renewal process, including coordination with brokers and insurers.
Review insurance coverage and make recommendations regarding risk transfer strategies.
Partner with operational leaders to identify, assess, and mitigate organizational risks.
Support the ongoing development of enterprise risk management practices.
Manage performance bonding requirements and related financial instruments.

Tax & Compliance

Coordinate tax compliance activities, including indirect tax filings, remittances, and instalment payments.
Partner with internal finance resources and external advisors on tax planning and technical matters.
Monitor tax legislation changes and communicate potential business impacts.
Support cross-border tax and import/export-related matters.
Coordinate corporate income tax return preparation and related filings with external advisors.

Leadership & Team Management

Provide leadership and oversight to the Innovation Funding & Incentives team.
Establish priorities, support employee development, and monitor team performance.
Drive continuous improvement in funding, reporting, and compliance processes.
Foster strong working relationships across finance and operational teams.

Requirements:

CPA designation or equivalent required.
7+ years of progressive experience in finance, with a focus on treasury, corporate finance, or related fields.
Experience developing financial models, business cases, and capital investment analyses.
Experience with cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and financial performance analysis.
Experience leading teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
Experience with banking covenant compliance and lender reporting.
Manufacturing, forestry, construction, or other capital-intensive industry experience is considered an asset.
Strong financial analysis and modeling capabilities.
Ability to evaluate investment opportunities and translate data into actionable recommendations.
Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to influence decisions across multiple levels of the organization.
Strong professional judgment and attention to detail.
Continuous improvement mindset.

Work Conditions:

Schedule: Monday – Friday
Location: Castlegar, BC

Compensation Package:

Salary: $115,000.00 - $145,000.00 (dependent on experience)
