Jewish Child and Family Service (JCFS) is a client-centred, non-profit social service agency in Winnipeg providing a wide range of supports, including Child and Family Services, Mental Health and Addictions Services, Older Adult Services, Clinical Counselling, Settlement Services, and Community Outreach.

JCFS, in partnership with Winnipeg Child and Family Services, is seeking a Beyond the Bell Worker to join our team. Beyond the Bell is an innovative program that supports youth in the care of, or receiving ongoing services from, Child and Family Services to improve educational outcomes, increase school engagement, strengthen wellness, and support successful transitions into adulthood.

Position Summary

The Beyond the Bell Worker provides individualized support, mentorship, and advocacy to youth, helping them overcome barriers to education and achieve their personal, academic, and career goals. Working collaboratively with Child and Family Services workers, schools, caregivers, and community partners, the successful candidate will develop meaningful relationships with youth while promoting independence, resilience, and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and implement individualized educational success plans with youth and their support teams.

· Provide one-on-one mentorship, advocacy, and practical support in schools, homes, and community settings.

· Assist youth with educational planning, career exploration, post-secondary applications, scholarships, and financial aid.

· Support the development of life skills, self-advocacy, organization, time management, and employment readiness.

· Connect youth with community resources and facilitate referrals to appropriate supports.

· Monitor educational progress, attendance, and achievement of goals while helping address barriers to success.

· Collaborate with schools, caregivers, Child and Family Services workers, and community partners.

· Maintain accurate documentation, case notes, reports, and program statistics.

· Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and ongoing program evaluation.

· Assist with collecting program outcomes and stories of impact.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

· Post-secondary education in Child and Youth Care or a related human services field preferred. Equivalent education and experience will be considered.

· Experience supporting youth from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.

· Knowledge of trauma-informed, strengths-based practice.

· Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

· A valid Manitoba Class 5F Driver’s Licence, access to a reliable vehicle, and an acceptable driver’s abstract.

· Flexibility to occasionally work outside regular school hours.

The successful candidate must complete a Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Prior Contact Check as conditions of employment.
