About the Company
Verto Health is a health technology company solving healthcare’s most complex data fragmentation and interoperability challenges. Our patented, AI-enabled platform ingests structured and unstructured clinical data across disparate EHRs, claims, and payer systems to create a unified, actionable view of patient populations. We empower health systems and value-based care organizations across North America to master population health by translating hidden clinical insights into personalized patient journeys, automated workflows, and accurate risk adjustments. By bridging the gap between raw data and coordinated action, Verto enables healthcare providers to reduce manual overhead, optimize operational efficiency, and deliver proactive, data-driven care at scale.
About the Role
Verto builds software that takes on some of healthcare’s most stubborn inefficiencies, and that product is only as valuable as our ability to get it live in the health systems we serve. That is the problem this role exists to solve. You will lead the product management discipline and own the delivery engine that turns a sophisticated platform into something we can deploy at scale and on repeat, without a heavy team behind every rollout. You will lead a team of Product Managers and Technical Delivery Leads, set the bar they deliver to, and keep product, engineering, go-to-market, and Implementations & Business Development working in lockstep.
You own the product and the productized delivery capability behind it. That means the productized capabilities and services we deploy, plus the delivery practice that makes standing them up leaner, more repeatable, and more scalable over time. Implementations & Business Development owns the project management around client engagements, including contracting, SoWs, and project administration, and leads the work that is clinically-led or still being defined. Engineering owns the technical architecture and software development of the platform. Your role is to partner with the cross-functional teams to ensure we are building the right products, delivering them effectively, continuously improving on how the organization delivers new features to the market, and measuring their success and adoption.
This role is part operator (product delivery, budgets, team) and part strategist (product direction and roadmap, P&L, go-to-market). If you want to own both the strategy and the machine that delivers it, and to measure your impact in how fast our customers reach value, this is the role for you. Reports to the CIO.
What You’ll Do
Product Leadership & Portfolio Management
-
Balance customer needs, market opportunities, technical investment, and commercial priorities when making roadmap decisions.
-
Own product portfolio and prioritization of development resources.
-
Ensure every roadmap initiative has measurable customer and business outcomes.
-
Partner with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Business Development to ensure product direction aligns with market demand.
-
Bring healthcare domain awareness to product strategy, including Canadian and US value-based care and reimbursement models and interoperability standards such as HL7/FHIR and IPS.
Release Delivery Operating Model & Team Leadership
-
Build and own a repeatable way to deliver releases with the ability to create standards, templates, and playbooks that let the team deploy consistently and track speed, cost, and quality.
-
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Product Managers and Technical Delivery Leads, and hold delivery to the standards you set.
-
Capture metrics with the aim to ensure that each deployment takes less time, less custom work, and fewer people.
-
Maintain product quality and risk practices for what the team ships, including audit readiness, risk tracking, and release discipline, within the company’s quality framework.
-
Chair the Product Release Committee (PRC), setting quarterly release priorities and (co-)owning release plans with development management, and representProduct and delivery on the project and quality management committees.
Process Engineering & Productized Delivery
-
Own the deployability and operability of the product as part of its lifecycle: marshal the right resources and run the activities that produce the playbooks, tooling, and measurement needed to deploy and operate each capability repeatably and at scale.
-
Build a delivery practice, a consultancy-style program and reusable methodology that makes our deployments leaner, more repeatable, and faster over time.
-
Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver the productized capabilities and services, providing the product and technical execution to configure, deploy, and stand up the solution while Implementations & Business Development runs the client project and contracting.
-
On new or undefined engagements, supply the product expertise while Implementations & Business Development’s clinical leads shape workflow discovery and future-state design, and productize those solutions once they stabilize.
-
Responsibly escalate technical risks and requirements to technical leadership to ensure cross-functional alignment on product and technical delivery.
-
Design and run the team’s delivery cadence (kickoffs, status updates, roadmap reviews).
-
Own the product and delivery tooling so stories, releases, sprints, and delivery playbooks connect cleanly, and integrate with the PMO’s contracting and SoW process.
AI-First Operations
-
Make AI-first the default way the team works, using AI to take over manual tasks like status reports, risk spotting, audit queries, story writing, and routine product engineering.
-
Work with the technical teams to build AI tools into everyday workflows.
-
Move the team from reactive reporting toward earlier risk mitigation, better resource use, and roadmap calls informed by data.
-
Own the product KPI dashboards and ensure leadership has the appropriate access and necessary context to interpret the status of delivery and product health.
Resource & Budget Management
-
Allocate people against business priorities, and partner with cross-functional leads and the delivery team to track allocation and utilization across platform projects.
-
Flag potential budget shortfalls early.
-
Help build the annual budget for your areas, and keep reviewing where the money goes.
What You Bring
Knowledge & Experience
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field
-
Preferred project management certification such as PMP
-
8+ years of experience in product technology environments
-
5+ years of experience managing complex ICT technology products, preferably in healthcare
-
A track record running complex, multi-workstream product or transformation programs in a software company.
-
Real people-leadership experience, including managing managers and product and delivery leaders, and the standing to influence senior leaders and partners through dotted-line relationships.
-
Experience turning bespoke implementations into repeatable, low-touch deployments that scale with a small team.
-
Experience building or running a delivery or professional-services practice that improved speed and repeatability.
-
Experience in a regulated, quality-managed software environment (for example ISO 9001, an Information Security Program (ISP), and HIPAA and Canadian health privacy legislation), including audit readiness and risk management.
-
Strong command of both Agile and Waterfall, and the ability to build hybrid approaches that suit fast AI development cycles.
-
An AI-first mindset and genuine daily use of AI tools.
-
Advanced skills with Jira, Confluence, Outline, and Google Workspace, including Gemini.
Assets (Nice to Have)
-
Healthcare domain depth across clinical NLP, health-data interoperability (HL7/FHIR, IPS), and reimbursement or value-based care models.
-
Hands-on understanding of agentic orchestration, LLMs, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation).
How You Work
-
A strong communicator who can align a room on a complex system and explain it just as well to people who are not engineers.
-
A genuine collaborator who works shoulder to shoulder with the team and across functions, and is at ease finding the simplest workable route through a messy problem.
What Success Looks Like
-
Delivery standardization: how much implementation work runs through the standard productized model instead of one-off builds, and how far the library of reusable assets grows.
-
Efficiency and leverage: total delivery effort and resources per deployment coming down as productization takes hold, so we deliver more with a smaller team.
-
Time-to-value: customers reaching first productive use sooner on productized implementations, which pulls revenue recognition forward.
-
Deployment readiness and on-time delivery: product, configuration, and environments ready on or ahead of committed dates, with productized deployments landing on time (shared with Implementations & Business Development, who own the client project).
-
Delivery quality: less rework, fewer escaped defects, and fewer post-go-live issues on productized deployments.
-
Product adoption, engagement, and expansion: real adoption and active use of core capabilities through on-schedule roadmap delivery, feeding net revenue retention and expansion.

This is a remote-first role open to candidates located anywhere in Ontario.
-
We hold in-person team days at our downtown Toronto office at least once per month
