Full job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to support the finance and accounting function on a temporary basis through the end of August. This role will oversee key accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, cash management, and process improvement activities.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a publicly listed company and be comfortable stepping into a fast-paced environment, quickly understanding existing processes, and contributing immediately.

**Assignment length: 1 month, until the end of August**

**Competitive hourly rate ranging from $70-85/HR**

**Location: Calgary, Hybrid work mode**

Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll review, and month-end close.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including variance analysis and management reporting packages.
Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow forecasting, and liquidity management activities.
Coordinate the preparation of financial statements and consolidate financial information across multiple entities or jurisdictions, as applicable.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, financial reporting requirements, and IFRS.
Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, banking partners, and other external stakeholders as required.
Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, systems, controls, and reporting procedures.
Provide financial analysis and business support to senior leadership, including special projects and decision-making initiatives.

Successful Candidate:

7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally including experience in a publicly listed company.
CPA designation preferred, with strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements.
Strong experience with month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Comfortable working independently, quickly assessing existing processes, and making an immediate impact in a temporary assignment.
A hands-on, collaborative, and solutions-oriented professional with strong communication and analytical skills.
