Notre client, une firme spécialisée en expertise technique après-sinistre, recherche un ingénieur mécanique souhaitant mettre son expérience au service de mandats complexes et variés.

Vous réaliserez des investigations afin de déterminer l’origine et la cause de défaillances touchant des bâtiments, des véhicules, de la machinerie lourde ou des équipements agricoles. Un expert d’expérience vous accompagnera durant vos premiers mois afin de faciliter votre intégration dans ce domaine spécialisé.

Temps plein (35h par semaine) | Permanent

Responsabilités

Examiner les lieux d’un sinistre et recueillir les informations nécessaires à l’expertise;
Déterminer l’origine et la cause de défaillances mécaniques;
Investiguer des événements impliquant la mécanique d’un bâtiment, un véhicule thermique ou électrique, de la machinerie lourde ou un équipement agricole;
Analyser les dommages causés notamment par le feu, l’eau ou un problème mécanique;
Effectuer des relevés, des observations, des essais et des analyses techniques;
Prendre des photographies et documenter rigoureusement les éléments observés;
Évaluer les éléments pouvant soutenir un recours;
Rédiger des rapports d’expertise clairs, structurés et bien documentés;
Vulgariser votre démarche et vos conclusions auprès d’une clientèle non spécialisée;
Collaborer principalement avec des assureurs et différents professionnels;
Agir comme témoin expert devant les tribunaux lorsque requis;
Effectuer des déplacements environ deux à trois jours par semaine;
Participer au développement du réseau professionnel de l’entreprise.

Exigences

Baccalauréat en génie mécanique obtenu au Québec;
Membre en règle de l’Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
Minimum de 10 années d’expérience pertinente;
Expérience pratique en mécanique du bâtiment, véhicules, machinerie lourde, équipements agricoles ou analyse de défaillances;
Expérience en assurance, en contexte légal ou en expertise après-sinistre, un atout;
Excellente maîtrise du français, particulièrement à l’écrit;
Bonne maîtrise de l’anglais pour communiquer avec certains clients anglophones;
Permis de conduire valide et accès à un véhicule fiable offrant suffisamment d’espace pour transporter du matériel;
Disponibilité pour vous déplacer au Québec et suivre des formations au Canada ou aux États-Unis.

Our client, a firm specializing in post-loss technical expertise, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer looking to apply their experience to complex and diverse assignments.

You will conduct investigations to determine the origin and cause of failures involving buildings, vehicles, heavy machinery, and agricultural equipment. An experienced expert will support you during your first months to facilitate your integration into this specialized field.

Full-time (35 hours per week) | Permanent

Responsibilities

Inspect loss sites and gather the information required for technical assessments.
Determine the origin and cause of mechanical failures.
Investigate incidents involving building mechanical systems, internal combustion or electric vehicles, heavy machinery, and agricultural equipment.
Analyze damages caused by fire, water, or mechanical issues.
Perform inspections, observations, tests, and technical analyses.
Take photographs and thoroughly document observed findings.
Evaluate elements that may support potential recovery claims.
Prepare clear, structured, and well-documented expert reports.
Explain methodologies and conclusions to non-technical clients.
Collaborate primarily with insurers and various industry professionals.
Act as an expert witness in court proceedings when required.
Travel approximately two to three days per week.
Contribute to the development of the company’s professional network.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering obtained in Quebec.
Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
Practical experience in building mechanical systems, vehicles, heavy machinery, agricultural equipment, or failure analysis.
Experience in insurance, legal contexts, or post-loss expertise is an asset.
Excellent command of French, particularly written communication.
Good command of English to communicate with certain English-speaking clients.
Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle with sufficient space to transport equipment.
Availability to travel throughout Quebec and attend training sessions in Canada or the United States.
