The Opportunity
As an Industrial Journeyperson Electrician, you will bring your industrial and mine-site experience to an established crew working on uranium projects in northern Saskatchewan. The work includes brownfield electrical construction, installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting, with assignments completed on surface and potentially underground. These are active operating environments where sound judgment, safe work practices and quality workmanship are expected on every shift.
You will solve problems in the field, support your crew and mentor apprentices while contributing to work that keeps operations running safely and efficiently. This is an opportunity to expand your industrial experience and continue advancing your career with an established Saskatchewan contractor.
Key Responsibilities
As the Industrial Journeyperson Electrician, you will:
- Complete industrial electrical construction, installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting work on active mine sites.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications and project requirements to complete installations according to applicable electrical codes and standards.
- Perform assigned work in both surface and underground environments when required.
- Follow all Flyer Electric and client safety policies, permits and site procedures, completing required risk assessments before work begins and as conditions change.
- Use materials, tools and equipment efficiently while completing assigned work according to project schedules and quality requirements.
- Prepare accurate daily progress reports, safety documentation and labour, equipment and material records.
- Participate in daily planning meetings, toolbox talks, site orientations and mandatory training.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, site personnel, clients and other trades, reporting hazards, incidents and changing site conditions promptly.
- Provide guidance to apprentices in the proper use of tools, materials and electrical installation methods.
Qualifications
As the Industrial Journeyperson Electrician, you will possess the following qualities:
The Essentials (Hard Skills):
- Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Certificate in the Construction Electrician trade.
- Saskatchewan Electrical Licence and Qualified Electrical Worker Certificate.
- 5+ years of experience in the electrical trade, including experience in industrial or mining environments.
- Current SCOT or equivalent, Fall Protection and Elevated Work Platform certifications, or the ability to complete required training before arriving at site.
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and clean driving abstract.
- Physical ability to work 11 or 12-hour shifts and regularly lift, carry, climb, bend, kneel, reach, push and pull.
- Ability to work on surface or underground and wear a respirator when required.
- Ability to successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada.

- Arrive prepared, complete assigned work and remain dependable throughout each rotation.
- Understand the pace, expectations and responsibilities of working on an operating industrial site.

- Use sound judgment when conditions change and recognize when work should stop.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and share their knowledge with apprentices and other crew members.
