Full job description

Job Title: Regional Director of Okanagan Operations
Work Location: Penticton (2670 Skaha Lake Rd.)
Reports To: Executive Officer
Term: This is a full-time salaried position that is required to provide a minimum of 40 hours per week and falls under the definition of “Manager” under the British Columbia Employment Standards Act.
Annual Salary: $98,000 - $120,000
Operational Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm with ½ hour unpaid meal break.

Position Summary: This role will work closely with the Leadership Team and Executive Officers to support the Vision, Mission, and Guiding Principles of ASK Wellness Society. The Regional Director of Okanagan Operations is responsible for the delivery of current and emerging programs and housing facilities. With three supportive housing facilities currently in Penticton, including a recovery focused housing setting, along with outreach and employment programs, the Regional Director will guide and inspire three managers and a diverse team of professional and people with lived experience. The Regional Director is a member of the Leadership Team working with the Executive Officer to strategize short-range and long-range organizational goals. Service delivery is based on a client-centered, non-judgmental perspective.

Specific Responsibilities:

Provide programmatic vision and recommend overall strategic direction for all programs under the Okanagan Operations umbrella, including changes in approaches and tactics to ensure that efforts are optimal to address changing needs and environment;
Act as the lead representative for ASK to maintain and foster relationships with the region including but not limited to service providers, indigenous communities, and provincial and municipal governments;
Participate in regional, area or other planning meetings and serve as a spokesperson for agency when called upon;
Oversee and manage health and housing programs including planning, delivery, evaluation and reporting activities;
Liaise with local/provincial organizations and government funders aiding the Society’s Streets to Homes to Health to Employment initiatives, supporting the vulnerable and persons at risk;
Working with Executive Officers to draft RFPs for grant and/or funding requests;
Lead change initiatives and set goals that improve service delivery and organizational effectiveness while creating a distinct culture for the regional team.
Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks;
Review and appraise performance and conduct monthly supervisory meetings with direct reports, and address concerns and facilitate resolutions
Complete accurate and up-to-date communication/case notes along with regional communication to team members
Maintain files and statistics as per accreditation standards;
Ensure adherence to Society policies and procedures.
Lead regional Human Resource recruitment and retention action items and implement any corrective and/or disciplinary actions that may be required
Lead the regional Property Services and Maintenance team on ensuring timely completion of required repairs and maintenance, in consultation with the Director of Property Services.
Support Finance and Payroll departments as and where required;
Ensure compliance with all Society policies and procedures;
Ensure contractual and reporting obligations are met;
When requested, be a member of the Society’s Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) team;

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in the area of Social Work, Nursing, or Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or lived experience.
Minimum of five to seven years experience in a director or similar leadership position.
Ability to coach/manage staff to develop high-performance teams with the ability to set and achieve strategic objectives.
Ability to provide training, orientation, consultation, and guidance within clinical specialization of practice.
Strong ability to recognize and address difficult behaviours.
Good communication, documentation, interpersonal, and conflict management skills.
Ability to work within a team-based environment involving multi-agency support.
Strong working knowledge of community resources.
Understands and maintains professional boundaries.
Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and reliable/appropriate transportation with business use coverage.
Must pass an acceptable criminal record check for the vulnerable sector.
Readiness to complete in-house online training within the first month of employment.
VAT (Vulnerability Assessment Tool) training an asset.
Mental Health First Aid, ASIST, and Trauma Informed Practice an asset.
