Full job description

Since 1996 Mustang Freightways has grown into a reputable regional carrier leading the industry with legendary service. Mustang is a general freight carrier offering both LTL & truckload transportation in Alberta and British Columbia.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Dispatch Support Clerk to join our team on site, at our Acheson facility. This role is responsible for assisting in the dispatch office with call taking, answering email inquiries and booking appointments. The role includes providing support in a fast paced, high call volume office environment and will assist in completing operational and data entry tasks as necessary in a timely and accurate manner.

The successful candidate is available Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 3:00pm.

Key Responsibilities

Book appointments for local freight, and ensure storage charges added
Call-taking
When issues arise discuss resolutions with AM Supervisor
Provide appointment sheet to AM Supervisor daily
When issues arise discuss resolutions with AM Supervisor and Dispatcher
Respond email pick-up requests
Breakdown, verify and process driver delivery paperwork.
Answer phone and email inquiries by customers to arrange pickups and deliveries.
Adhere to corporate and departmental policies and procedures
Manage interline and agent pick-ups
Answer operations emails
Assist with POD entry if needed
Cut DPO’s if needed
Skeleton bill bills dropped at the dock as needed

Adhere to corporate and departmental policies and procedures
Performs other duties as required

We are looking for a positive and reliable individual to support our operations team. The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:

Previous experience with dispatch/call center environment an asset
Transportation industry knowledge and experience an asset (i.e. shipping/receiving, scheduling, appointment booking)
Advanced computer skills - Outlook, Excel, Word
Previous knowledge or experience with AS400 considered an asset.
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
Able to work well under pressure and able to deal with change
Strong attention to detail
Very organized, with excellent multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
Excellent customer service/communication skills
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

Work Conditions

Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
Overtime as required
Lifting or moving up to 10lbs may be required
