This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career finance professional looking to build a long-term career in FP&A, business finance, and analytics. Working alongside senior finance and business leaders, the successful candidate will gain exposure to budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, business performance analysis, and data-driven decision-making while developing strong technical and commercial finance skills.

Principal tasks and responsibilities include:

Utilize SQL to extract, validate, and analyze financial and operational data from multiple systems
Support monthly reporting, dashboards, KPI tracking, and management reporting activities
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and business planning processes
Analyze revenue, costs, profitability, productivity, and operational performance metrics
Prepare variance analysis and provide commentary on key business drivers and trends
Support the preparation of executive presentations, reporting packages, and financial analysis for leadership teams
Work with finance and business stakeholders to answer ad hoc analytical requests and business questions
Assist with financial modelling, scenario analysis, and business case development
Maintain and enhance reporting tools, dashboards, and data visualization solutions
Perform data validation and investigate reporting discrepancies to ensure accuracy and consistency
Support reporting automation and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization
Translate data into meaningful business insights and recommendations
Participate in special projects focused on improving business performance and decision-making

Qualifications and pre-requisites:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field
1-3 years of experience in financial analysis, business analysis, reporting, analytics, accounting, or a related role
Strong SQL skills are required. Candidates should be comfortable writing queries and working with large datasets
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in understanding business performance drivers
Experience with Excel, Power BI, or other reporting and visualization tools would be considered an asset
Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, or business analysis is preferred
Strong communication skills and the ability to present findings in a clear and concise manner
Ability to work collaboratively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
Eagerness to learn, develop new skills, and grow within a business finance environment
Professional, curious, and proactive approach to problem-solving
