Riversol is one of Canada's leading dermatologist-developed skincare brands. We sell millions of dollars of skincare every year across Shopify, Amazon, wholesale and retail, and we're just getting started.
We're looking for a different kind of Controller.
Not someone who closes the books and disappears until month-end.
We're looking for someone obsessed with understanding the numbers behind an e-commerce business. Someone who loves Shopify data, automation, AI, financial modelling and building systems that help leadership make better decisions.

What You'll Own
You'll become the financial heartbeat of Riversol.
You'll own everything from daily accounting to executive reporting while helping build a finance function designed for the next stage of growth.
Accounting & Finance Operations
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day financial health of the business. This includes:
- Overseeing all day-to-day accounting operations
- Managing the monthly close process and ensuring accurate financial statements
- Owning Accounts Payable and payment processes
- Managing cash flow and working capital
- Maintaining accurate inventory and cost accounting
- Ensuring reconciliations and financial controls are completed accurately and on time
- Working with external accountants and auditors when required
- Continuously improving finance processes through automation and technology
Financial Leadership
You'll be a key member of the management team, helping guide strategic decisions across the business.
You'll:
- Prepare monthly reporting packages for leadership
- Build dashboards that allow leaders to make faster, smarter decisions
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and annual planning
- Build financial models and scenario analyses
- Support fundraising and investor due diligence with robust financial models and reporting
- Help department leaders understand the financial performance of their teams
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability, cash flow and operational efficiency
Shopify & Ecommerce Analytics
This is where this role is different.
You must genuinely understand how Shopify businesses work. You'll build reporting that answers questions like:
- What is our true contribution margin?
- Which acquisition channels are actually profitable?
- What is our blended CAC?
- What does LTV really look like?
- What are returns costing us?
- What is our true landed margin by SKU?
- Where is inventory tying up cash?
- Which promotions actually create profitable growth?
Systems, Data & Automation
You'll work across a range of financial, operational and reporting systems including:
- Shopify
- Amazon
- Klaviyo
- GA4
- Fulfil.io ERP
- Xero
- Float
- Inventory and operational systems
- Business intelligence and reporting tools
- Reporting Platforms
- AI and automation tools
You should be excited by data—not intimidated by it.
We believe finance should automate everything possible. You’ll take ownership of our financial systems and continuously improve how they work together, including integrations, reporting, workflows, and automation.

Cross-Functional Finance Partner
Finance doesn't sit in a corner at Riversol.
- You'll work closely with Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Product Development, Customer Experience and Leadership.
- Your job is to help every team understand the financial impact of their decisions and establish a single source of truth for the business.
What We're Looking For
Required
- CPA designation (or equivalent)
- Experience leading accounting operations
- Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable, inventory accounting and month-end close
- Deep Shopify experience
- Experience in a Shopify-native ecommerce business
- Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills
- Strong financial modelling skills
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and scenario planning
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance people

Success in This Role
Within your first 12 months, you will have:
- Built executive dashboards that become the company's financial source of truth
- Automated significant portions of month-end reporting
- Improved the integration between Shopify, Fulfil, Xero and Float
- Delivered timely, accurate monthly reporting packages
- Built sophisticated forecasting and cash flow models
- Improved inventory and COGS reporting across the business
- Supported a successful fundraising process with investor-ready financial models
- Helped department leaders better understand the financial impact of their decisions
- Reduced manual work through automation while increasing reporting accuracy
