Primary Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Maintain excellent customer service
- Use safe work practices to ensure safety of all staff and customers
- Complete required paperwork according to company policies, procedures, and protocols
- Ensure yard areas and equipment are organized and clean, including washing equipment/trailers
- Assist with shipping and receiving of products/equipment and trailers
- Operate equipment (forklift/loader etc)
- Load/unload products/material (heavy lifting involved)
- Review products entering the yard to ensure they match corresponding BOL’s
- Assist customers with trailer hookups
- Service, repair and maintain equipment and trailers (some small engine repair)
- Driving company vehicles/trucks
- Delivery trailers and equipment to customer sites and other store locations
- Obey Traffic Safety Act regulations and be aware of surrounding and potential hazards while operating company vehicles/equipment
- Monitor trailer & equipment placement in the yard
- Report all damage and concerns to management
- Assist with maintaining accurate records of inventory in the yard
- Primarily working outdoors (dress appropriately for the weather)
- May be required to work Saturdays (in rotation)
Skills and Qualifications:
- Recognize the importance of establishing relationships with customers and providing a great customer experience
- Mechanically inclined and ability to assist with small repairs
- Familiar with agricultural equipment /trailers (considered an asset)
- Self-motivated and results-oriented
- Must be accountable, reliable and have good problem-solving skills
- The ability to multi-task and balance priorities
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and excellent follow-through
- Capable of safely lifting up to 50 lbs. on your own, 100 lbs. with team lift
- Good communication skills both verbal and written (fluent in English)
- Able to take direction and work as a team player
- Maintain a positive “can do” attitude
- Have great work ethic and willingness to expand industry knowledge/education
- Proven forklift and/or loader experience (current certification considered an asset)
- Must have valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver's license, clean driver’s abstract and satisfactory criminal record check
