About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established civil contractor specializing in underground utility and municipal infrastructure projects throughout the Lower Mainland. They are seeking an experienced Civil Foreman to join their growing team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing field crews completing underground utility installations while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for a field leader who enjoys mentoring crews, driving productivity, and working on a variety of civil infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise field crews performing underground utility installations, including sanitary sewer, storm, and watermain systems.
Plan, organize, and coordinate daily construction activities to keep projects on schedule.
Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, consultants, and inspectors to ensure smooth project execution.
Read and interpret civil construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
Coordinate labour, equipment, and materials to maximize site productivity.
Ensure work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies, WorkSafeBC regulations, and project specifications.
Monitor workmanship and quality to ensure installations meet project requirements.
Identify and resolve field issues while communicating progress, risks, and solutions to the project team.
Complete daily reports, production tracking, and other required site documentation.
Promote a positive team culture through mentorship, leadership, and a strong commitment to safety.

Qualifications

5+ years of civil construction experience with significant underground utility experience.
Previous experience as a Foreman or Lead Hand leading construction crews.
Strong knowledge of sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and watermain installation.
Ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings and specifications.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proven ability to maintain productivity while delivering high-quality work safely.
Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
First Aid, Ground Disturbance, Confined Space Entry, or other related certifications are considered strong assets.
