Full job description

Flexxaire Inc. is a progressive and innovative company focused on designing and manufacturing reversing fans for diesel engines (Flexxaire Fan) and automated coolant management systems (Flexxcool). Based in Edmonton, Flexxaire Inc. serves a variety of industries throughout Canada and around the world.

Reporting to the Production Manager, we are currently recruiting a Journeyman CNC Machinist / Programmer for our Machine Shop to join the capable and growing production team.

Minimum requirements:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· 5+ years of Journeyman trade designation and machine shop experience.

· Set-up, prove out part programs and run production on various types of multi axis CNC lathes and mills.

· Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week.

The following experience is considered an asset:

· CAM programming (Esprit).

· Robot programming (Fanuc).

· CMM programming and operation (Zeiss Calypso).

· Knowledge of Lean and 5S practices.

· Advanced knowledge of industry safety practices.

· Ability to lift items weighing 50lbs (occasionally up to 75 lbs)

Role Responsibilities:

· Read, interpret, and follow basic diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and other written instructions or procedures.

· Program parts using Esprit Cam optimizing setup, run time and part quality.

· Set up, prove out part programs and if applicable run production on various types of multi axis CNC lathes and mills.

· Set up and run an automated cell (machine, robot, etc.).

· Train and mentor other employees within the machine shop team.

· Troubleshoot machine or product issues, ex. operation, quality, etc.

· Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.

· Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

· Strive to meet quotas without compromising quality.

· Perform other duties as assigned.
