The Role:
We are seeking an experienced IT Engineer and System Administrator to join our team as we continue to grow and innovate in the automotive software industry. As an integral part of our organization, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration with various systems, and providing top-notch technical support to our employees.
The Impact You Will Have in This Role:
This role is part of a small team responsible for all IT, from desktop to datacenter, for our dealer services division, which is critical to the success of JD Power. You will be expected to work closely with other team members, learn policies and processes and ultimately ensure the division’s technology runs efficiently.
What You’ll Be Doing in This Role:
- Design, implement, and maintain our IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and virtualization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify and prioritize IT projects and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and training materials for employees.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the automotive software industry.
- Provide End User Support with JDP Issued PC/Laptop hardware and software, monitoring SugarCRM and Service Now ticketing systems.
- Onboarding and Offboarding activities, including procuring and retrieving assets.
- Financial database servers and client workstations. Including 3rd part plugin support.
Data Center
- Work with INAP/Horizon IQ/Evocative to ensure proper operation of the hosted environments.
- Perform system, database and server patching.
- Participate in on call, off hours scheduled and unscheduled work.
- Manage and administer datacenter and cloud environments.
- Configure monitoring and alerting.
- Perform and monitor environment backups .
- Implement environment changes moves/adds/deletes.
- Support SMTP and SMS Gateways.
End User Support
- JDP Issued PC/Laptop hardware and software support.
- Monitoring SugarCRM and Service Now ticketing systems.
- Onboarding and Offboarding activities, including procuring and retrieving assets.
- Phone System management and maintenance.
QuickBooks database servers and client workstations. Including 3rd part plugin support.

Qualifications of this Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field or 5+ years of experience in IT engineering and administration, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- VMWARE Vcenter
- Windows Server
- Linux (various)
- Load balancing
- Firewalls – Rules, Policies, VPN, Monitoring, etc.
- DNS management
- Layer 2 and Layer 3 network configurations and troubleshooting
- Dell, Lenovo and HP hardware. PC’s, Laptops and Servers.
- Application layer troubleshooting.
- SSL Certificate deployment across all environments, including network gear and linux based load balancers.
Familiarity with VoIP technologies.

This position has a starting salary range of $110K - $120K CAD / $120K - $130K USD per year. This is the range we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for the role at the time of posting. An employee’s pay within the range is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, education, qualifications, experience, performance, business or organizational needs, and geographic location.
