Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Network Operations & Automation team is seeking a Senior Software Developer to support the development of enterprise-scale automation platforms used to manage the lifecycle of network infrastructure across both IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments.
This role will focus on building tools that support firmware upgrades, configuration management, and operational workflows for technologies such as Cisco routers and switches, Versa SD-WAN appliances, and cellular modem platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced Network Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and leverage AI-assisted development practices to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that improve reliability, security, and operational efficiency
The Senior Software Developer in this role will Manage very complex or multiple projects and is considered a SME and has the ability to influence others. Oversees projects and ensures alignment with business goals. Leads a work group or project team. Develop and document software based on a defined set of design and performance requirements Adhere to processes defined by the Technical Lead and Solution Architect Provide estimates of work effort Proactively provide ideas to improve proposed solutions Actively participate in application design, database design, schema layout and data loading Actively participate in code walkthroughs/inspections as per the software development process and Quality Management Plan Prepare sample data and unit test plans Troubleshoot and corrects complex bugs or issues (including performance issues) Develop and execute unit and integration tests as per the project plan Assist in the set up and execution of demonstrations as required Align all work effort with the project schedule/work plan
Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions supporting firmware upgrades and network lifecycle management

Collaborate with network SMEs to translate operational processes into reliable, repeatable automation workflows

Develop end-to-end automation including pre-upgrade validation, execution, verification, and rollback mechanisms

Build user-facing tools and APIs to support operator-driven workflows

Implement audit, logging, and error-handling capabilities to support operational transparency and compliance

Integrate automation solutions with enterprise platforms such as monitoring, inventory, and service management systems

Leverage modern development practices, including AI-assisted tooling, to accelerate delivery

Contribute to reusable frameworks and automation patterns
Qualifications
-
5+ years of professional software development experience

Strong proficiency in Typescript, UI Frameworks (ie: React), Python
-
Strong proficiency in AWS Cloud Services, CI/CD and Cloudformation or other infrastructure as code platforms.

Experience developing automation tools, backend services, or workflow-based systems

Experience working with APIs, scripting, and system integrations

Understanding of software development lifecycle practices including version control and testing

Experience in infrastructure, network, or systems environments

Familiarity with automation or orchestration frameworks

Experience working in operational or regulated environments

Exposure to AI-assisted development tools or methodologies

Education and Certifications

University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
