WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
As a member of the Electronics Product Engineering team you will ensure best production testing frameworks and sustainment methodologies are applied throughout the lifecycle of our products
- Define test system technical documents for manufacturing/scape up
- Implement software application, test automation tools and frameworks based on product requirements.
- Refresh of existing test fixtures, refine test procedures to execute product and system level testing
- Oversee new test fixture designs for internal and external vendors – defining requirements, review schematics, PCB layout, BOMs, software applications, HW and SW integrations test results
- Enhance test system design for scale up, quality and reliability
- Commission test fixtures for internal and external contract manufacturers and maintain safety certification
- Lead the organization through your firmware and test engineering expertise
- Provide guidance to the team to address technical issues, drive manufacturing improvement activities
- Work with global manufacturing teams, managing technical scope of scale up and delivery, oversee internal and external resources as required
- Transfer knowledge from NPI to Operations, and from Operations to NPI
- Be a peer leader among designers, developers, and product engineers holding them accountable for employing best practices in CM selection, and test fixtures.
- Discover, qualify, integrate or otherwise learn new and advanced test strategies for productivity
- Provide thoughtful leadership through mentorship of junior team members, technical reports, present at technical seminars
YOU HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in developing and deploying manufacturing test fixture or automated production test systems
- Registered professional engineer (P.Eng) in APEGA or similar regulatory body
- Hands on experience developing software test automation tools and frameworks in Python, C#, Ruby or Labview.
- Proven ability to relate physical designs to software algorithms.
- Excellent understanding of electromechanical designs– reading and understanding schematics, wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings.
- Software/Firmware development experience in RUST, C++ or C# would be an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging abilities (proficient with oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, digital multi-meters, etc).
- Skilled in defining & maintaining comprehensive technical documentation (test systen requirement documents, test strategies and execution, user manuals etc)
- Ability to travel 20% internationally
