As we transition and position ourselves to scale, we are looking for a full-time, career-oriented production manager. The production manager role is a key leadership position in our Balzac production facility acting as the quarterback for the entire production team. This role provides oversight and leadership for food safety, quality assurance, production planning and scheduling, EH&S, and operational equipment care, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have experience leading teams, managing inventory and raw goods, and would preferentially have worked in an industrial food manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities:
Leadership
- You set the tone as the leader of the production team
- Coach new and existing production line workers as they develop within OKFD
- Organize and prioritize tasks for the team
- Effectively communicate with the different departments in the production facility
Production planning:
- Planning of production to meet sales quotas on a weekly basis
- Ensure required resources are in place for all our production needs (order ingredients, plan maintenance together with the maintenance supervisor, etc)
- Daily manpower planning for each shift (currently one operating shift)
Operations:
· Oversee the production supervisor to ensure procedures are being properly implemented and followed
· Efficiently troubleshoot any production issues that may arise in order to minimize downtime
· Orchestrate any necessary adjustments needed on the production line in real time to ensure product quality is always meeting OKFD standards
Safety and Food Safety
- Ensures compliance with health & safety regulations not limited to and including the assigned production area’
- Responsible for working within and enforcing the guidelines of all applicable aspects of OKFD’s food safety program (SQF, HACCP, GMP) and ensuring compliance of production staff
- Leader of the emergency response team
- Implement the OKFD food safety program with the help of the Food Safety Supervisor
- First aid attendant contact for the facility
Maintenance
- Work closely with Maintenance team to minimize disruption to the line in the case of breakdown and repair
- Troubleshoot and assist maintenance if equipment issues arise
- Work together with the maintenance supervisor to schedule planned maintenance on production equipment
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of supervisory experience within an industrial manufacturing setting, ideally within food manufacturing
- Knowledge of production lines and machinery (production performance indicators, technological processes)
- Mechanical aptitude and excellent problem-solving skills
- Knowledge and experience in stock management, production models, and planning techniques
- Knowledge and application of Food Safety, Quality and Sanitation policies and procedures
- Knowledge and application of production KPIs
- Strong communication skills in a multicultural environment
- Demonstrated ability to direct production employees in a proactive and positive manner
- Demonstrated problem-solving and leadership skills
- Knowledge of production scheduling
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools; Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Ability to work shifts, including weekend shifts, with flexibility to adjust
- Preferred: Knowledge of Food Safety procedures
- Preferred: Forklift certification
- Preferred: First aid certification
