About Us

Concrete Reflections (Conflex) is a Calgary-based specialty flooring contractor. We install high-performance floor systems — polished concrete, self-leveling underlayments and toppings, and resinous/epoxy flooring — for commercial, institutional, and industrial clients across Alberta. We work directly with general contractors and building owners, and our reputation is built on getting the substrate prep, the pour or the grind, and the finish right the first time.

The Role

We're looking for a Site Supervisor / Field Foreman to lead one of our installation crews on site. This is a hands-on leadership role: you run the crew, own the quality of the work, and are the person on site who makes sure the floor goes down right — from substrate prep through final polish, topping, or topcoat.

Our focus is polished concrete and self-leveling underlayments and toppings, with resinous and epoxy systems alongside them. You don't need to walk in expert in all three. You need to lead a crew well, hold a high standard for craft, and be willing to learn our systems. We'll train the product-specific knowledge; we can't train work ethic, ownership, and the ability to run people.

What You'll Do

Lead the crew on site — assign tasks, set the pace, and keep the crew productive, safe, and accountable through the workday.
Own quality and craft — inspect substrate conditions, verify prep, and hold the finish to spec across all three systems: polish clarity/gloss and joint detail, self-leveler flatness and finish, and coating film build and appearance.
Run polished concrete work — progressive diamond grinding and honing, densifier application, stain/dye where specced, guard/sealer, and hitting the required gloss and flatness standards.
Install self-leveling underlayments and toppings — substrate assessment and moisture testing, priming, mixing and pumping (or hand-mixing), gauge raking and spike rolling, managing flow, feather edges, and cure to achieve a flat, sound surface.
Execute resinous and epoxy systems — surface preparation, primer and topcoat application, control joint and crack treatment, and detailing (mixing ratios, coverage, wet film thickness, recoat windows, cure times).
Handle surface prep — grinding, shot blasting, scarifying, and profiling to the correct CSP for the system going down.
Read and follow the spec — interpret project scope and manufacturer's product data sheets, and flag when field conditions don't match (slab moisture, contamination, flatness, temperature, out-of-spec substrate).
Coordinate the day — confirm materials and equipment are staged, manage consumables, and keep the job moving to schedule; communicate ahead when you'll need more material, labour, or time.
Represent Conflex on site — be the professional point of contact for the GC's superintendent and other trades, coordinating access, sequencing, and site logistics.
Own site safety — enforce Alberta OHS requirements, run daily hazard assessments/toolbox talks, ensure correct PPE (including silica dust control), and manage safe handling of materials and equipment.
Report back — keep daily field records (hours, production, quantities, conditions, delays) and communicate progress and issues to the office.

What You Bring (Core Requirements)

Proven experience leading a crew in flooring, concrete, or a related trade
Strong craft standard and attention to detail; you notice when something's off and you fix it rather than cover it.
Solid understanding of concrete as a substrate and how surface conditions affect a finished floor.
Reliable, organized, and able to manage a day's work to a schedule without constant oversight.
Comfortable communicating directly with crew, office, and general contractors.
Valid Alberta driver's licence and clean abstract to drive company vehicles.
Able to meet the physical demands of the role (see below).

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding field role. You should be able to lift and carry heavy material (pails, bags of self-leveler, equipment), operate grinders and floor equipment, work on your feet on concrete for full shifts, kneel/bend/crouch for extended periods, and work in conditions that include dust, coating fumes (with proper PPE), and variable site temperatures.

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
