Our client is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer (Stormwater) to help grow and lead their stormwater and water resources practice in Alberta.
This role will focus on delivering complex municipal stormwater and water resources planning and design projects, including stormwater management plans, flood and drainage studies, low impact development (LID), green stormwater infrastructure (GSI), climate resilience initiatives, and rehabilitation of existing municipal infrastructure.
The successful candidate will be a senior technical leader who can manage projects from proposal through delivery, mentor junior staff, build strong client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of the Alberta business.
- Manage stormwater and water resources projects from planning through detailed design and delivery.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams while managing scope, schedule, budget, and project resources.
- Prepare and oversee stormwater management plans, drainage studies, flood assessments, and water resources planning projects.
- Lead the planning and design of municipal stormwater infrastructure, including rehabilitation and retrofit projects.
- Develop innovative solutions related to low impact development (LID), green stormwater infrastructure (GSI), climate resilience, and aging infrastructure.
- Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal multidisciplinary teams throughout project execution.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and quality review for intermediate and junior engineers.
- Identify client needs, develop long-term relationships, and support proposal development and business development activities.
- Ensure engineering deliverables meet technical, regulatory, and client requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered with APEGA.
- 13+ years of experience in stormwater and water resources consulting.
- Strong experience leading municipal stormwater planning and design projects.
- Experience with stormwater management plans, drainage studies, flood assessments, and water resources planning.
- Experience with low impact development (LID), green stormwater infrastructure (GSI), and climate resilience initiatives.
- Proven project management experience with responsibility for project scope, schedule, budgets, and client management.
- Experience mentoring junior and intermediate engineers.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with municipal clients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Previous business development and proposal experience is considered an asset.

Salary: $120,000 - $160,000
