Full job description

We are looking for a Legal Assistant to join our growing team!

We are a paralegal firm. Our Paralegal Practitioners are insured, licensed, qualified, and authorized by the Law

Society of Ontario to provide legal services to the general public in the Province of Ontario. We are pleased to provide our services in Greater Sudbury and beyond!

Job type: Permanent Full-Time

Location: 109 Elm Street, Suite 205, Sudbury, ON, P3C 1T4

Schedule: Monday to Friday , 37.5 hrs – 40 hrs per week

Pay Rate: Hourly $17.95 - $20.00 (to be determined based on experience and qualifications)

Approximate Start Date: Monday, September 21, 2026

AF Paralegals Professional Corporation is seeking a full-time legal assistant. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and will be detail oriented. This individual will play an integral role in supporting our licensed staff and ensuring that our clients are provided with the exceptional client services that they have come to know and expect from us.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for clerical, administrative and general office duties
Maintain multiple calendars and handle scheduling
Communicate regularly with clients, coworkers, and third parties in a professional manner by phone, in writing, via video conference (zoom or similar) or in person
Assist licensed staff with file management, including organizing and expediting the flow of work, and the preparation of file summaries
Preparation of correspondence and briefs as directed
Service of legal documents, correspondence, and evidence materials
Assist with data entry and billing as directed
Any similar tasks that may be assigned

Qualifications/Competencies:

Law Clerk, Paralegal, Office Administration Diploma, or equivalent is an asset
1-2 years experience in a similar role is preferred
Superior time-management skills, multitasking, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
Proven organizational skills
High proficiency with Microsoft Office, GSuite, and Adobe
Proficiency with LEAP or other law office accounting software is an asset
Ability to provide client service in both English and French is an asset
Criminal Record Check
Valid Driver’s Licence is preferred
Access to reliable transportation
