We're looking for a Communications & Engagement Coordinator to join our team on a 12-month term, covering a maternity leave, with the potential to renew or continue beyond the initial term. You'll support the development, coordination, and execution of communications and engagement initiatives that boost our visibility, storytelling, and community and client connection.
This is a great opportunity for an early-to-mid career communicator to gain hands-on experience across a wide variety of sectors and projects, working alongside a Senior Communications & Engagement Specialist and our Communications & Engagement Lead.

What You’ll Be Doing
Client & Interest-Holder Relationships
- Respond promptly and professionally to client and interest-holder communication requests
- Help maintain positive, reliable working relationships with clients and community partners
- Assist with formatting, editing, and finalizing internal and client-facing communication materials
- Coordinate logistics and communication materials for virtual and in-person engagement events
- Track and organize client and interest holder feedback, flagging recurring themes to the team
Strategic Communications & Storytelling
- Support implementation of communication and engagement plans alongside project teams
- Draft, edit, and proofread newsletters, social media posts, website updates, and reports
- Assist with storytelling initiatives by collecting project updates, quotes, images, and success stories
- Maintain consistency in tone, accessibility, and inclusivity across written and visual materials
Digital Engagement & Content Management
- Create, schedule, and publish social media content across platforms
- Monitor digital engagement and compile performance data for reporting
- Update and maintain website pages and blogs using WordPress or a similar CMS
- Support development of visuals, infographics, and branded materials
We’re Looking for Someone Who…
You're a creative, detail-oriented communicator who's ready to jump into a fast-moving, project-driven environment and make an impact quickly.
You'll likely be successful if you have:
- 2–3 years of professional experience in a communications, marketing, or engagement role
- Experience designing digital and print communications materials, such as social graphics, presentations, and fact sheets
- Experience drafting and editing content for websites, social media, newsletters, and reports
- Post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)
- A collaborative mindset and comfort managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Experience working in diverse, multi-interest-holder, or community-led projects—and an understanding of inclusive and culturally appropriate communication practices—is a strong asset.
Tools You’ll Use
We're looking for someone comfortable working with many of the following:
- Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
- Adobe Acrobat
- Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite
- Mailchimp
- WordPress or a similar CMS
- Social media scheduling tools
- Smartsheet
Travel
Most of your work can be completed from our Creston office, your home office, or a hybrid arrangement. Occasional travel (approximately 10–20%) may be required to attend community events, client meetings, or engagement sessions.

From Your Start Date
