Job Description: Startup Web & AI Automation Developer (Short-Term Contract)

About Us:
We’re launching a new company and building a modern, conversion-focused website that incorporates practical AI capabilities. We need an experienced developer to build the initial website foundation and imn*plement interactive features that automate parts of customer service, sales & marketing, and lead tracking/lead generation*.

Role Summary

You will design and develop our website and integrate AI-driven, customer-facing and internal automation features to accelerate lead capture, follow-up, and conversion. This is a short-term, high-impact role requiring both strong web development skills and the ability to translate business goals into working automations.

Key ResponsibilitiesWebsite Development & UX

Build or overhaul the company website with a strong focus on:
Conversion-focused landing pages
Clear user journeys (lead capture → nurture → booking/contact)
Mobile-first and performance-optimized design
Accessibility and basic SEO best practices
Create interactive website elements (e.g., chat widgets, forms, guided flows, calculators/quoters as relevant).
Implement analytics and tracking (events, conversions, funnel visibility).

AI Features & Automation

Integrate AI capabilities into the site experience, such as:
AI chat assistant for customer FAQs and guided qualification
Lead triage and routing (based on user responses)
Automated responses and escalation to a human when needed
Set up and connect relevant workflows for automation across:
Customer service inquiries
Sales lead qualification
Marketing follow-up sequences
Ensure AI interactions are accurate, appropriately constrained, and safe (e.g., tone, disclaimers, refusal behaviors, handoff rules).

Lead Tracking, Lead Generation & CRM Workflows

Implement lead capture mechanisms (forms, lead magnets, quiz flows, booking flows if applicable).
Connect website lead data to a CRM or lead management system (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, or alternatives).
Configure lead lifecycle workflows (new lead → qualification → follow-up → status updates).
Produce basic reporting dashboards or tracking views (e.g., source, conversion rates, response times).

Technical & Integration Work

Integrate tools for:
Email marketing automation (if applicable)
Scheduling/booking tools (if applicable)
Customer support tooling (if applicable)
Website analytics (e.g., GA4) and event tracking
Maintain clean, well-documented code and ensure the site is scalable for future growth.
Follow security best practices (privacy, data handling, form security, secure keys, etc.).

Company Literature (Brand & Copy Support)

Design production-ready company literature to fast-track launch, such as:
One-page overview / PDF brochure
Sales sheet or pitch deck starter slides
Basic brand assets (templates for future marketing use)
Work with provided brand guidance (or help define minimal brand direction if needed).

Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience building websites and integrating third-party services (portfolio required).
Strong front-end and back-end capability (examples):
HTML/CSS/JavaScript and/or React/Next.js
Node/Python/PHP or equivalent backend experience
Experience implementing chat/AI features in real-world products:
Retrieval / FAQ grounding where appropriate
Basic prompt + workflow design
Tool/function calling and structured outputs (as applicable)
Experience with lead tracking/automation:
CRM integration (HubSpot/Salesforce/Zoho or similar)
Web-to-lead forms and workflow automation
Experience with analytics and conversion tracking:
GA4 and event tracking
UTM/source attribution basics
Ability to translate business requirements into working automations quickly.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience launching B2B or service-based websites and generating leads.
Experience with marketing automation platforms and email sequences.
Experience with UX writing for onboarding/lead capture.
Familiarity with modern AI safety patterns (handoff to human, disclaimers, limiting scope).
Design skills (Figma/Canva/Adobe) for company literature.

Deliverables (What “Done” Looks Like)

By the end of the contract, you will deliver:

A functioning, launch-ready website with core pages and lead capture flows
AI-enabled interactive features (chat/assistant and/or qualification flows)
Automated lead routing and follow-up workflows integrated with CRM/email tooling
Tracking/analytics configured for lead sources and key conversion events
Company literature assets (PDF brochure/sales sheet and/or pitch deck starter)

How We Work (Important)

We value measurable progress and clear milestones.
You will collaborate with our founder/team to confirm requirements and iterate quickly.
You should be comfortable documenting decisions and maintaining handover notes.
