Job Summary: Provide administrative support to the Health and Safety department through communication of policies and procedures and updating Ergonomic tools accurately
Required Education and Experience:
-
Completion of/or in process of obtaining post-secondary education in related field; Health and Safety, Engineering, Kinesiology, Environmental and/or Advanced Ergonomics

Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Minimum 1 to 2 years experience
- Fluent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Excellent English Communication skills (oral and written)

Essential Functions:
-
Ensure all Safety documentation is organized effectively and up to date; departmental action trackers, return to work log, continuous improvement log
-
Coordinate with floor management to ensure any open action items, or non-conformities, are being addressed in a timely manner
-
Coordinate, schedule and conduct HealthSafety and Environmental related trainings (i.e. Lock Out Tag Out, Spill Response, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, WHMIS, etc.)
-
Assist in the evaluation of potential emergencies and in the execution of Emergency preparedness and Response
-
Liaison with Human Resources department on any cross departmental employee relations issues
-
Coordinate plant Safety communications and educate Alfield supervision on effective delivery
-
Conduct Safety related audits for Alfield; collect data, determine non-conformities, create open action items, and follow up with task champions
-
Assist in identification and maintenance of Environmental aspects and impacts
-
Assist in evaluating new product, process and services and conduct risk assessment
-
Advise Senior Management on any formal non conformities and necessary course of action
-
Monitor chemical inventory
-
Participate in JHSC meetings and ensure open items are addressed by task champions in a timely manner
- Assist with the completion of case management documentation: Return to Work log, ESRTW package and WSIB Forms, and filing of sensitive employee information

Monitor first aid injuries; incident investigation details, open action items, and first aid injury log via Central
- Assist in preparation of information relevant to annual environmental reporting requirement

Assist EHS Manager in document Control for Environmental Management System
- Conduct ergonomic assessments to ensure safe work practices utilizing one or more of the following: Physical Demands Analysis forms, RULA, REBA, Video Analysis, NIOSH, SNOOKE tables, etc.
- Coordinate departmental initiatives to improve Health and Safety programs at Alfield and Escalate any major safety concerns to Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Assist in development of departmental initiatives to improve Environmental, Health and Safety programs at Alfield

Address employee Environmental, Health and Safety concerns and report them to EHS Manager

Assist employees with concerns and answer questions on the Martinrea Employee Handbook and other HR related questions.

Ensure compliance, maintenance, and continual improvement to the ISO14001 Environmental Management System, ISO 45001 Occupational HealthSafety Management System, and applicable legal requirements and as directed by EHS Manager

Conduct internal audits for OHSMS

Perform hazard assessments of workplace and provide feedback to EHS Manager

Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
