Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Grocery Associate to join our retail team. This role involves providing excellent service, maintaining store organization, and ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for shoppers. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and a positive attitude to support daily store operations effectively.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with locating products, answering questions, and providing friendly service
Restock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure an appealing shopping environment
Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately and efficiently
Maintain cleanliness of the store, including aisles, displays, and checkout areas
Perform merchandising tasks such as stocking new products and setting up promotional displays
Use forklifts or other equipment as needed for inventory movement (training provided if necessary)
Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks to ensure store equipment and facilities are in good condition
Support inventory management through stock counts and organizing back-stock areas
Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate daily tasks and store needs

Qualifications

Previous retail sales experience preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer needs
Familiarity with merchandising, cashiering, cleaning, and basic maintenance tasks is advantageous
Organizational skills to manage stock levels and maintain store appearance
Ability to operate forklifts or similar equipment (training provided)
Excellent communication skills for teamwork and customer interaction
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as needed
