Escape has been in business since 2004 and has established itself as a leading provider in these services for residential, commercial, institutional, and tenant improvement projects. Escape is seeking a dynamic and motivated Sprinkler Estimator to join our expanding small projects team! This opportunity is also well suited to an experienced journeyman sprinkler fitter looking to transition into a more strategic, career-advancing opportunity. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for fire sprinkler systems across tenant improvements, residential and retrofit projects. Success in this position requires a solid understanding of fire protection system design, materials and applicable codes. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in fire protection estimating, a working knowledge of sprinkler system design principles, sharp attention to detail, the ability to interpret construction documents and excellent communication skills with a collaborative team-oriented approach.

Areas of Accountability

Review tender packages, specifications and drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates for tenant improvements, residential and retrofit projects.
Perform material take-offs and prepare scope of work and pricing breakdowns
Solicit pricing from suppliers and subcontractors to support bid development
Work with management, project managers, designers and field staff to ensure estimating aligns with project requirements
Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and coordinate with contractors and clients as needed
Track and manage bid submissions, revisions, and follow-ups
Identify value engineering opportunities and alternative solutions
Maintain and update historical cost databases and unit pricing for future estimates
Other duties as assigned.

The Person

Skills and Knowledge

5+ years of experience in fire sprinkler estimating or related mechanical / construction estimating role
Strong understanding of NFPA codes, fire protection systems and local building codes and regulations
Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
Strong Excel and computer skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple bids and deadlines
