Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for Japanese cuisine and possess the skills necessary to prepare high-quality sushi dishes. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for crafting delicious sushi rolls and sashimi, ensuring that all food is prepared in accordance with food safety standards, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Duties

Prepare and present sushi dishes, including rolls, sashimi, and nigiri, with attention to detail and presentation.
Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality by regularly checking inventory and sourcing supplies.
Follow proper food handling procedures to maintain food safety standards at all times.
Assist in meal preparation by preparing ingredients such as rice, vegetables, and seafood.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area, including proper sanitation of work surfaces and equipment.
Help train junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices.

Experience

Previous experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry is preferred.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques specific to sushi and Japanese cuisine.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in a restaurant setting.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in presentation are essential.
