Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Prep Cook/Dishwasher to join our restaurant team. This role is essential in maintaining smooth kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, cleaning dishes, and supporting the culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, uphold high standards of food safety, and contribute to a positive dining experience for our guests. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable restaurant and kitchen experience in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients for menu items. Making soups, sauces, pesto & chutney from scratch.
Maintain cleanliness of dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment by washing and sanitizing regularly
Support the kitchen staff with meal assembly and basic cooking tasks as needed
Ensure all food handling procedures adhere to safety and sanitation standards
Organize and store ingredients properly to maintain freshness and prevent cross-contamination
Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations
Assist in restocking supplies and maintaining inventory levels in the kitchen

Skills

Experience in serving, food preparation, or food service is preferred but not required
Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
Ability to perform basic cooking tasks and assist with meal preparation
Familiarity with restaurant or kitchen environments is a plus
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and sanitation standards
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team

This role is perfect for individuals interested in the food industry who want to develop their culinary skills while supporting a dynamic restaurant team. Prior experience in food handling or restaurant settings is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.

Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
