In 2020 North Toronto Eye Care (NTEC) merged with Prism Eye Institute, to form Prism Group Holdings (Prism), the largest Ophthalmology practice in Canada.
In 2022, PEI further strengthened a partnership with Vision Group Canada (VGC) and is working to expand its footprint nationally. VGC operates over 50 clinics and 70 surgical facilities performing over 100,000 procedures annually.

Tasks:
- Greet patients upon arrival, direct them to the appropriate contact or service, and provide general information in person, by phone or by email while maintaining information security.
- Check in/check out patients efficiently and provide information regarding wait times to contribute to the overall patient experience.
- Register patients in our EMR (Oscar) and care programs, including document uploads.
- Log all patient interactions and call details in the EMR per standard operating procedures, including preparing medical records.
- Verify OHIP eligibility to ensure adequate coverage or inform patients of fees, receive payments, and issue receipts as required.
- Schedule and reschedule appointments and referrals accurately, following booking protocols as required, using our EMR system and other applicable computerized systems.
- Provide clear information on the rationale, function, and cost of insured and non-insured tests to patients as needed.
- Obtain and process information from patients required for medical services.
- Ensure that all appointments, and patient interactions are documented correctly and communicated effectively.
- Operate a telephone system or switchboard to answer, screen, and forward calls, take messages, and provide information as required.
- Respond promptly to patient and departmental inquiries via phone, email, and Oscar messages.
- Audit schedules for accuracy and track weekly metrics as required.
- Handle and receive payments, issue receipts, and manage the receipt and faxing of reports to referring offices.
- Perform other related duties and ad hoc tasks as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs.

Pay: $18.00-$18.50 per hour
