Veterinary Technician Assistant (Permanent Full-Time)

Dixie Animal Hospital is looking for a compassionate, motivated, and customer-focused Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our growing team!

We are a busy urgent care and wellness veterinary hospital, providing high-quality medical care while creating a positive experience for both our patients and their families. Schedule

Our hospital is open 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. (midnight).

8-10 hour shifts
Evening availability is required (must be able to work until midnight)
Weekend availability is required, with shifts shared on a rotating schedule (approximately 2-3 weekends per month)

Responsibilities

Obtain patient vital signs for appointments and hospitalized patients
Assist veterinarians during examinations and treatments while ensuring patient comfort and safety
Assist Veterinary Technicians/Registered Veterinary Technicians with surgical preparation and patient care
Safely handle and restrain canine and feline patients
Prepare examination rooms and maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment
Clean, disinfect, and sterilize equipment and instruments
Maintain accurate medical records
Provide exceptional client service by communicating professionally and compassionately with pet owners
Assist with general hospital duties as required to support patient care

Qualifications

Minimum one (1) year of veterinary assistant experience is required
Genuine interest in animal health and welfare
Positive attitude with a strong focus on client service
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
Comfortable lifting and restraining animals weighing up to 50 lbs. (We are not a hands-free clinic.)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Willingness to learn and continuously develop new skills
