Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our Landscape Department team for the season. This role focuses on maintaining and enhancing landscape environments through hands-on horticultural practices. The ideal candidate has a passion for gardening and landscape maintenance and is comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Perform landscape maintenance tasks including trimming, pruning, edging, cultivating, watering, planting, and debris cleanup to ensure healthy and aesthetically pleasing garden beds and landscapes
Operate or demonstrate willingness to learn equipment such as gas blowers, trimmers, and cultivators
Assist with garden bed preparation and maintenance, mulching, and seasonal planting projects
Install seasonal plantings and arrangements in beds, planters, and containers at various properties throughout the GTA.
Complete softscape landscaping tasks including planting, transplanting, loading and transporting nursery stock, and reading and executing landscape plans
Water and maintain various container plantings throughout the GTA
Care for, prepare, load and transport plant material stored at the company shop
Ensure proper storage and maintenance of tools and equipment
Follow all company safety protocols and procedures

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience in landscape maintenance, gardening or horticultural practices
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools such as lawnmower, hedge trimmer, weed wacker, blower, cultivator for landscaping tasks
Strong understanding of plant care and landscape maintenance principles
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Physical stamina and capability to perform manual labour
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to follow safety procedures when handling tools and equipment
Previous landscape maintenance experience is considered an asset
