Role Description
We are seeking a candidate who is proficient in developing building models in Revit and producing coordinated construction documents through to completion. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with a strong understanding of building science and the Ontario Building Code. They are self-motivated, receptive to direction, and capable of working both independently and as part of a project team. JMA operates in a collaborative, open-plan office, and regular in-office attendance is required. A hybrid work schedule of up to two remote days per week is negotiable.
Qualifications
- 7 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- Post-Secondary diploma in Architectural Technology.
- Strong in-depth working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.
- Well versed in the Ontario Building Code (Part 3 in particular), and proficient in referencing and discussing the OBC with building departments, clients, and contractors.
- Thorough knowledge of building materials and related construction assemblies and detailing.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clients, colleagues, and consultants.
· Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines for multiple projects.
· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.
Duties include:
- Working on multiple projects with internal team members and consultants from design development to construction completion.
- Preparation of design, permit and construction drawings
- Identifying and solving technical problems.
- Participating in presentations to clients, other stakeholders and occasionally public forums.
- Participating in preparation for planning, permitting and other approval processes.
- Coordination of documents with other disciplines including engineering consultants.
Assets include:
- Valid driver’s license and own vehicle to get to job sites. Note that gas for travel to out-of-town job sites is reimbursed.
- Construction administration experience.
- Experience working on construction sites.
Salary Range – $70,000 to $85,000
Comprehensive benefits package available upon successful completion of the three-month probationary period.
