We are Seeking: We are currently seeking a Site Supervisor to join our Calgary Operations Team.

About Us: Great Western Interiors is a 30+year Insulation and Drywall Contracting Company operating within the Calgary, Edmonton and Columbia Valley areas. We are committed to providing our clients with quality workmanship while meeting expected timelines with an excellent service program. We are currently providing our services for New Residential Builds, Renovations and Multi-Family projects.

Location: This position is based in Calgary, Alberta. This is a field-based position.

Hours: Full-Time Monday-Friday, 40-hours per week.

Ideal Candidate: Our ideal candidate has experience in drywall/insulation site management. They show initiative, are committed to obtaining high quality results and see tasks through to the end. They are organized, prepared and confident communicating with various groups including GWI Team, Sub-Contractors, builders, suppliers and homeowners to achieve high quality results. They are team players offering help when available and accepting help when needed.

Position Overview: As the Site Supervisor, you will play a valuable and crucial role in contributing to the completion of our projects from insulation stage to texture completion. You have experience and knowledge of insulation, spray foam/thermal, drywall, taping, sanding, texture and touch up procedures and management.

You will apply this knowledge to directly contribute to the well-being of the Calgary operations division. This position offers a great opportunity for individuals looking to utilize and uplevel their existing skills and experience.

Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day operations on the work sites and provide directions and support to the GWI team.
Work with the Production Coordinator to plan and forecast upcoming jobs maintaining GWI scheduling timeframes and hire Sub-Contractors accordingly.
Ensure timelines are met for each job through various spot checks performed throughout the length of the job.
Develop, maintain and build effective relationships with GWI clients, Sub-Contractors and suppliers.
Deal with customer’s concerns efficiently and effectively with knowledge-based responses.
Work with Production Coordinator, Operations team to top-grade Sub-Contractors.
Follow Quality Control process for each job to ensure Great Western Interiors standards.
Follow procedures to prevent problems or errors. Update and develop procedures to ensure productivity is enhanced.
Provide the operations team with proper coaching and guidance when required.
Enhance, promote and facilitate internal and external communication.
Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and improve our business processes and practices.
Support in the creation of Standard Operating Procedures for the Operations Team.
Adherence to company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Drywall Supervisor
Ability to accurately count insulation, drywall and foam for job starts.
Ability to solve problems in all aspects of the industry - insulation, boarding, taping, textured/paint-grade/level 5 ceilings, spray foam and attic blow.
Ability to lead and manage a team of staff and Sub-Contractors.
Negotiation skills to address sub-contractor and customer issues in an effective manner.
Strong communication skills, adaptable to utilize multiple communication platforms (phone, text, email, in-person and scheduling software/portals) to effectively complete full scope insulation and drywall projects.
Tech Skills, a general understanding of hardware, software considered an asset. Including Microsoft Suite Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Teams and Word.
Understanding basic financial concepts to understand how GWI ensures it is profitable.
Effective decision making
Time management skills.
Ability to provide and receive constructive advice and feedback.
Attention to detail and the ability to work meticulously to achieve high-quality results.
Ability to innovate and look outside to the box for creative solutions to address business issues.
Teamwork skills. The ability to take direction and work effectively alongside a team to achieve solutions.
Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently without supervision.
