Full job description

Job Overview

We are a growing bookkeeping firm looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Remote Bookkeeper to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, accurate, and comfortable managing bookkeeping tasks for multiple clients in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for full-cycle bookkeeping, transaction coding, bank and credit card reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, sales tax preparation, and month-end review work. You must be comfortable working independently, meeting deadlines, communicating with clients, and following company procedures.

Experience with QuickBooks Online is required. The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to keep client files accurate, organized, and up to date.

This is a remote position, but the candidate must be dependable, responsive, and able to work during regular business hours.

Duties

Complete full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients.
Record and categorize bank, credit card, loan, and merchant transactions.
Complete bank and credit card reconciliations.
Review and clean up bank feeds in QuickBooks Online.
Match receipts, invoices, bills, payments, and deposits.
Enter and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Review outstanding invoices, bills, credits, and unapplied payments.
Prepare GST/HST/PST summaries and assist with sales tax filings.
Process or record payroll entries when required.
Reconcile payroll, source deductions, and related liabilities.
Complete month-end bookkeeping and account reviews.
Review profit and loss statements and balance sheets for accuracy.
Identify errors, duplicate transactions, missing information, and unusual balances.
Communicate with clients to request missing documents or clarify transactions.
Maintain organized client records and supporting documents.
Follow company checklists, procedures, and deadlines.
Work closely with the bookkeeping team to ensure files are accurate and ready for review.
Maintain confidentiality of all client and company information.

Qualifications

3+ years full-cycle bookkeeping
QuickBooks Online required
Canadian payroll experience
GST/HST/PST filing experience
Bank/credit card reconciliations
Month-end close experience
Must be in Canada
Experience working in a bookkeeping firm preferred

Pay: $26.00-$34.00 per hour
