Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry, in Retirement living. Demonstrating a strong understanding of kitchen operations, food handling, and meal preparation. This role is essential in delivering high-quality dishes that meet our standards for taste and presentation while ensuring food safety practices are followed.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menus.
Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of quality.
Assist with the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations before and after service.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
Monitor food inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Follow all food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of guests and staff.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during meal service.
Help train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and kitchen protocols.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Cook in a Retirement or similar food service environment.
Vulnerable Sectors Check
Food Handlers Certificate
2 Step TB Skin Test
Strong knowledge of food handling, preparation techniques, and safety standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
A passion for cooking and creating delicious meals that delight customers.
