Full job description

Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Manager to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant management experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards, managing food preparation and cooking processes, and maintaining a high level of hospitality. Previous experience with POS systems such as Micros is preferred, along with a solid background in food handling, restaurant operations, and team management. A background in hospitality or hotel food service is a plus. The Kitchen Manager will play a key role in maintaining operational excellence and fostering a positive team environment.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food preparation and cooking processes
Supervise kitchen staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, and scheduling team members
Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation in compliance with health regulations
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper food handling procedures are followed
Ensure consistent quality of food presentation and taste
Handle cash transactions and POS operations using Micros or similar systems
Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving issues promptly
Lead by example to foster teamwork, professionalism, and a positive work environment
Monitor kitchen performance metrics and implement improvements as needed
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless restaurant operations

Qualifications

Proven experience in restaurant management or food service supervision
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
Experience with POS systems such as Micros or similar platforms
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams effectively
Excellent customer service skills with a hospitality-focused approach
Background in food handling, restaurant experience, or hotel food services preferred
Ability to oversee kitchen operations during busy hours while maintaining quality standards
Experience with interviewing and training staff is highly desirable
Knowledge of the food industry trends and best practices in restaurant management
Previous barista or serving experience is considered an asset
