Full job description

Join a Team That Builds Exceptional Outdoor Spaces

Hill County Property Services is seeking an experienced Landscape Construction Technician to join our growing construction division. We are looking for a motivated individual with 3-5 years of landscape construction experience who takes pride in quality workmanship, works safely, and enjoys being part of a professional team.

Working under the direction of a Team Lead, you will assist in the construction of high-quality residential and commercial landscape projects throughout Northumberland, Quinte, and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

Assist in the construction of hardscape and landscape projects.
Install interlock patios, walkways, driveways, and retaining walls.
Perform grading, excavation, and site preparation.
Install natural stone, armour stone, and garden features.
Install sod, trees, shrubs, and planting beds.
Operate and maintain landscape equipment safely and efficiently.
Load, unload, and transport materials.
Read and follow site plans and project instructions.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
Work collaboratively with the Team Lead and other crew members.
Provide professional service and represent Hill County positively on client sites.

Equipment Experience

Experience operating or assisting with the following equipment is considered an asset:

Skid Steers
Mini Excavators
Compact Wheel Loaders
Plate Compactors
Jumping Jack Compactors
Cut-off Saws
Concrete Saws
Power Wheelbarrows
Chainsaws and handheld power equipment
Landscape lasers and grading equipment

Qualifications

3-5 years of landscape construction experience required
Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence (DZ is considered an asset)
Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Experience reading landscape drawings is an asset
Knowledge of proper construction techniques and safe equipment operation
Ability to work independently while taking direction from a Team Lead
Punctual, dependable, and committed to quality workmanship
