Experienced Bookkeeper

About Town Brewery Inc.

Town Brewery Inc. is a growing, dynamic craft brewery located in Whitby, Ontario, committed to producing exceptional beer and delivering outstanding customer experiences. We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Bookkeeper who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to play a key role in our finance team.

Reporting directly to the Co-Founder and CFO, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions and will help ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the company's financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
Record and reconcile bank deposits.
Manage full-cycle bookkeeping and accounting functions.
Process accounts payable, including wire payments and other electronic payments.
Record and reconcile intercompany transactions.
Complete month-end closing procedures and maintain accurate financial records.
Prepare monthly financial reports and analyses for management.
Assist with tax compliance reporting, including HST and other required filings.
Lead the annual review engagement process and coordinate with external accountants.
Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and supporting documentation.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Support additional finance and accounting projects as required

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping or full-cycle accounting experience.
Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online is required.
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Strong understanding of full-function accounting principles.
Experience with intercompany accounting is an asset.
Knowledge of Canadian accounting practices and tax compliance requirements.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
