Position: Bookkeeper
Location: Oshawa, ON
Job Type: Full-Time, Contract/Permanent
Payrate: $22 an hour

Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to join our team in Oshawa, ON. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and managing accounts payable and receivable.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple accounting responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accurate and timely processing
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Maintain accurate general ledger entries and financial records
Prepare invoices, payments, expense reports, and other accounting documentation
Assist with payroll processing and employee-related records
Support month-end and year-end closing activities and reporting
Ensure compliance with company policies and Canadian accounting standards
Prepare and file HST returns and other regulatory requirements
Communicate with vendors, clients, and internal teams regarding financial matters
Maintain organized and up-to-date financial documentation
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency

Qualifications

1–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or similar
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of Canadian accounting practices
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Nice-to-Have:

Experience with Sage ERP/Accounting systems
Knowledge of Canadian tax regulations, including HST/GST and payroll deductions
Experience in logistics, inventory, warehouse, or operational environments
