About Playloola
Playloola is a premium indoor playground and family entertainment space designed to provide children and families with a safe, clean, fun, and welcoming experience.
We are looking for a reliable, energetic, and customer-focused Play Area Maintenance & Guest Experience Staff member to join our team. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with children and families and is comfortable learning different areas of the business.
The ideal candidate will help ensure our play area is safe, clean, organized, and ready for guests, while also supporting our front desk, POS, party operations, and café.
Key Responsibilities
Play Area & Safety
- Monitor the play area and help ensure children are using the equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment throughout the facility.
- Regularly inspect the play area for cleanliness, damage, spills, loose parts, or other safety concerns and report issues immediately.
- Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces, toys, play equipment, tables, washrooms, and common areas.
- Follow Playloola's cleaning, sanitation, safety, and emergency procedures.
- Assist with toy/equipment cleaning and sanitization throughout the day.
- Respond appropriately to minor incidents and follow established incident-reporting procedures.
- Help maintain a welcoming and positive environment for children and parents.
Front Desk & Guest Services
- Welcome guests and provide friendly customer service.
- Check guests in and assist with admissions, memberships, bookings, and party reservations.
- Operate the POS system accurately and process cash, debit, and credit transactions.
- Learn and operate Playloola's booking/venue management software.
- Answer customer questions in person, by phone, and through other communication channels.
- Assist guests with waivers, memberships, party information, and general inquiries.
- Help maintain an organized and professional front desk area.
Birthday Parties & Events
- Assist with birthday parties and private events.
- Help prepare and reset party areas between bookings.
- Assist with food, drinks, party supplies, and cleanup.
- Help ensure party rooms are clean and ready before and after each event.
- Provide friendly and attentive service to children and parents during parties.
Kitchen & Café Support
- Be willing to learn basic food and beverage preparation.
- Prepare simple snacks, drinks, and café items according to Playloola's procedures.
- Follow all food-handling, sanitation, allergen-awareness, and kitchen safety requirements.
- Keep kitchen and café areas clean, organized, and properly stocked.
- Follow recipes, portion guidelines, cleaning schedules, and food-safety procedures.
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen/café duties when required.
Required Qualifications & Certifications
Because this position involves working in a children's recreational environment, applicants must be prepared to meet Playloola's safety and screening requirements.
Required or expected certifications/training include:
- Standard First Aid & CPR/AED certification
- Vulnerable Sector Check / Police Record Check, as required for the position
- Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain one if performing food preparation
- WHMIS training
- Workplace Health & Safety training
- Any additional playground, emergency, or safety training required by Playloola
Additional training related to child safety, playground supervision, incident reporting, accessibility, and emergency procedures will be considered an asset.
Specific certification and screening requirements may vary depending on job duties and applicable Ontario requirements.

- Able to multitask between guest service, cleaning, play-area supervision, and party support.
- Comfortable standing, walking, bending, lifting, and performing physical cleaning duties throughout a shift.
- Available to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and busy party days.
- Positive, energetic, and genuinely enjoys creating a great experience for families.
Experience
Previous experience in any of the following is an asset:
- Indoor playground or children's entertainment facility
- Daycare, recreation centre, camp, or children's programs
- Customer service or retail
- Front desk/reception
- POS or cash handling
- Birthday parties or event venues
- Café, restaurant, or food service
- Cleaning or facility maintenance
Experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate. We are willing to train someone who is reliable, hardworking, friendly, and eager to learn.
