Job description:

Ontario Family Group Homes Inc. is a trusted and established provider of supported living settings, providing services for children, youth, and adults with intellectual, developmental, and/or behavioural challenges. We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join our supported living settings. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals looking to make a meaningful impact while developing their careers in the Developmental Services or Child and Youth Work sectors.

What We Offer

Competitive Compensation: $23.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Implement and adhere to individualized care plans and structured daily routines
Support residents with activities of daily living, including personal care and medication administration
Maintain a safe, clean, and inclusive home environment
Effectively manage crisis situations, including the use of physical intervention techniques when necessary
Document daily activities, incidents, and observations in accordance with agency standards
Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and other service professionals to ensure continuity of care
Provide transportation for residents to appointments or community-based activities.

Qualifications and Requirements

Completion of a recognized two-year post-secondary diploma in Developmental Services Work (DSW), Child and Youth Care (CYC), or Social Service Work (SSW) (mandatory)
Vulnerable Sector Check that has been Issued within the past 12 months. (required)
Valid Class G Driver’s License with clean driving record (G1 and G2 not accepted)
Minimum of 1 year experience in a residential care setting (required)
Current UMAB (Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behaviour) certification is considered an asset
Strong crisis management, de-escalation, and interpersonal skills
Physically able to support residents with mobility needs and perform physical interventions (lifting up to 50 lbs)

Work Schedule

12-hour rotating shifts
Availability for day, evening, night, and holiday coverage required
